Originally from wine country, the author moved to San Francisco just shy of a decade ago, drawn by a lifelong fascination with film. Settling into the vibrant city, it became clear that while filmmaking and editing were enjoyable, true cinematic genius was lacking. This realization prompted a significant career shift. The next direction was an odd childhood ambition, sparked at the dining room table: to become an accountant. Looking back, the author wonders how friendships were maintained during this time, but it was the path ultimately taken. Though adept at wrangling numbers and even earning the title of the world's most outspoken accountant, the daily routine stifled creativity. It was then that the author rediscovered their creative drive and began writing.
