Two thousand years of writing in Croatia
    • As an interpretation of carefully selected documents of cultural and literary development in Croatia - today the second biggest Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia - this book has come to carry an exhibition in itself. The masterpieces of the written word in Croatia presented here may stand as guidelines for the understanding of a complex historical development. For anybody who attempts to reconstruct the cultural life of this country, this will be a most reliable reference book. The documents interpreted cover rather more than two thousand years - from texts carved in stone by the first Greek colonists on the coast (in the 4th and 3rd centuries B.C.) to the contemporary publications of the Yugoslav Lexicographic Institute
