John Macculloch

    John MacCulloch was a Scottish geologist, recognized as the first government geologist in Britain. He is best known for his pioneering texts on geology and for creating the first geological maps of Scotland. His work laid foundational understanding for future geological research and mapping. MacCulloch also made a notable contribution to the English language by introducing the word 'malaria'.
