Lucy Aikin

Lucy Aikin was an English historical writer whose work engaged with early education, producing several volumes aimed at young readers. Her original writings, including a collection of epistles and poems examining the character and condition of women across ages and nations, are remembered today. She is also credited, under the pseudonym Mary Godolphin, with creating single-syllable adaptations of classic tales. Aikin is particularly well-regarded for her biographical works.
