Apollonius Rhodius

Apollonius of Rhodes is celebrated for his epic poem, the Argonautica, which recounts the legendary quest for the Golden Fleece. As one of the few surviving examples of the epic genre, his work was both innovative and deeply influential. Although little is known about Apollonius himself, his poetry offers a unique window into Hellenistic literature and its place within a long poetic tradition. His writing is valued for its distinct voice and its contribution to the classical literary landscape.
