Richard Maitland Books

Sir Richard Maitland was a notable Scottish poet and jurist who served in the courts of James V and Mary of Guise. His poetry often engages with social and political themes, reflecting the turbulent condition of 16th-century Scotland. His works are either satirical or written with the meditative seriousness of an old man who loves his country and distrusts his less tolerant contemporaries.
