John Todhunter

John Todhunter was an Irish poet and playwright whose literary output includes seven volumes of poetry and several plays. His early life was shaped by a Quaker education and medical studies, though he soon turned to literature, becoming a professor of English literature. Todhunter resided in London, where his home became part of a community of writers and artists, and he was involved in founding the Irish Literary Society. His dramatic works, such as a play with a single performance, explored themes that pushed against censorship.
