Guizot (François

François Pierre Guillaume Guizot was a prominent French historian, orator, and statesman. He was a dominant figure in French politics leading up to the Revolution of 1848. As a conservative liberal, he opposed King Charles X's attempt to usurp legislative power and worked to sustain a constitutional monarchy after the July Revolution of 1830.
