John Frederick William Herschel

    Sir John Frederick William Herschel was an influential English scientist whose interests spanned mathematics and astronomy to chemistry and photography. His astronomical work included originating the Julian day system and naming several planetary moons. In photography, he introduced significant innovations and also investigated phenomena such as colorblindness and the effects of ultraviolet rays.
