Cornelius Herodotus

Herodotus, the ancient Greek historian, is hailed as the "father of history" for his systematic approach to collecting materials and his vivid narrative style. His masterpiece, "The Histories," investigates the origins of the Greco-Persian Wars, rich with geographical and ethnographic detail. Though some of his tales were fanciful, he claimed to report only what he was told. His work marks a shift from divine influence toward more 'knowledge'-based inquiry, while retaining a captivating, bardic storytelling style for dramatic effect.
