Sol. T. Plaatje
Solomon Tshekisho Plaatje was a gifted polyglot and journalist who became a pivotal activist in the struggle for the rights and liberation of African people. As a co-founder and the first General Secretary of the South African Native National Congress (later the ANC), he was instrumental in political change. His literary talents shone through his translations of Shakespeare into Tswana and his pioneering English novels, breaking new ground for his era. His writings, including "Native Life in South Africa," are recognized as remarkable testaments to the African experience.
