Alfred Zimmern

Alfred Eckhard Zimmern was an English classical scholar and historian who wrote on international relations. His work was among the first to apply the expression "British Commonwealth" to the British Empire. He is also credited with popularizing the phrase "welfare state", which was later made famous by William Temple. Zimmern's insights into international affairs and governance continue to resonate.
