Psalms Breathing is not another book about the psalms, of which there are many, but a companion for those who would go deep within the psalms, abandon all preconceived notions, and hear them, hear through them, to the voice of God. It is a practice that I call walking the psalms, going beyond the intellect, beyond words, toward listening, surrender, poverty in spirit, wisdom. In the book I teach three special methods for this walk, namely music, movement, and the practice of intentional silence. Brief commentaries to each of the psalms bring out some of the deeper meanings and applications to life.

When their village is destroyed, Sillara, a young noblewoman, and Tsujatha, a grimy youth of uncertain parentage, find themselves swept up in affairs that rock their entire nation. Who are the invaders who attacked their borders? Why was their village burned but not sacked? And why did the victorious army go back instead of pressing its advantage? Neither Sillara nor Tsujatha can make anything of it, but they must learn the truth before the chain of events set in motion brings down all the Savage Elves. Yet the two companions must also each discover the truth of themselves before they can face the challenges ahead. Can Tsujatha stand the truth of his history? And what of Sillara's noble heritage? Will it bear scrutiny? The Jewel of Tamar brings the reader into Gilalion, an entirely new world, complete with its own history, languages, and peoples. It is epic fantasy, with its broad canvas of world-shaking adventures, yet it never loses sight of the inner workings of the minds of its protagonists. The vividly drawn characters will stay in your memory long after you have finished the book, and you will want to return to them and to Gilalion again and again.
