Joseph Grinnell

    Joseph Grinnell was a prominent American field biologist and zoologist. He conducted extensive studies on the fauna of California, introducing a groundbreaking method for recording precise field observations, now known as the Grinnell System. He held the position of the first director at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology at the University of California, Berkeley, from its establishment in 1908 until his passing.
