George Fyler Townsend Books
George Fyler Townsend was an English clergyman and translator, renowned for producing the standard English edition of Aesop's Fables. His influential translation pioneered the practice of appending a concise moral to the end of each tale, a feature that continues to shape how these stories are understood. Townsend's collection of 350 fables saw numerous editions published during his lifetime and beyond. He also explored adaptations and versions of popular children's narratives, including Arabian Nights.
