Martyr Justin

Justin Martyr was an early Christian apologist, regarded as the foremost interpreter of the theory of the Logos in the 2nd century. Though most of his works are lost, two apologies and a dialogue survive. His most well-known text passionately defends the morality of the Christian life, offering ethical and philosophical arguments to persuade the Roman emperor to cease persecuting the fledgling sect. He also posited the theologically innovative idea that the "seeds of Christianity" predated Christ's incarnation, thus claiming many ancient Greek philosophers as unknowing Christians.
