Sarah Margaret Fuller

Margaret Fuller was a journalist, critic, and women's rights activist associated with the American transcendentalist movement. She was the first full-time female book reviewer in journalism. Her work, Woman in the Nineteenth Century, is considered the first major feminist work in the United States. Fuller was an advocate for women's rights, particularly women's education and the right to employment. Many other reformers and feminists cite her as a source of inspiration.
