Jean Guilon
This author duo began their literary collaboration in 1972, crafting their initial children's stories. After exploring works on spelling and reading, they now dedicate their focus entirely to writing novels for young readers. Their collaborative success is enriched by complementary backgrounds: one was an elementary school teacher and speech therapist, while the other, holding a doctorate in Educational Sciences, previously served as a literature professor and national education inspector. In 1985, they conceived the character Ratus, an affable green rat who became the hero of a widely recognized reading method, and simultaneously developed the concept of 'petit romans' – short novels designed for independent reading by children, which evolved into the popular Ratus Poche collection.
