Lycophron

Lycophron, a poet of the Alexandrian Pleiad, was born around 330 BC. Several tragedies and a satirical play are attributed to him, though all are lost. During the reign of Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-246 BC), he was responsible for editing comedies at the Library of Alexandria. His work highlights his role in the preservation and scholarly engagement with dramatic literature during a pivotal period of Hellenistic culture.
