Otto Ovid

Publius Ovidius Naso, known as Ovid, was a Roman poet whose elegiac couplet verses profoundly influenced Western art and literature. His poetry, particularly his collections of love poetry and his extensive fifteen-book mythological narrative, was widely imitated and remains a vital source for classical mythology. Ovid, traditionally ranked among the foremost Latin poets, enjoyed immense popularity during his time, yet was exiled by Emperor Augustus for reasons that remain debated among scholars. Even in exile, he continued to write, producing elegies in the form of letters that continue to fascinate with their poignancy and literary artistry.
