Arno Geiger

Arno Gieger is an Austrian novelist.
Geiger grew up in a village called Wolfurt near Bregenz. He studied German, ancient history and comparative literature at the universities of Innsbruck and Vienna. He has been a freelance writer since 1993. From 1986 to 2002 he also worked as a video technician at the annual Bregenzer Festspiele summer opera festival.
In 1996 and 2004 he participated in the Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis competition in Klagenfurt.
In October 2005, he was the winner of the Deutscher Buchpreis literary prize (awarded by the German Booksellers Association) for his novel Es geht uns gut (in German, We are doing well).
Geiger currently lives in Wolfurt and Vienna.
