Er studierte Kunst und Design und arbeitet seitdem als freier Illustrator. Er hat zahlreiche Kinderbücher geschrieben und illustriert und einige Auszeichnungen erhalten, darunter den „UNESCO Award for Children´s Book“. Paul Stewart wurde 1955 in London geboren. Er studierte Englisch und Kreatives Schreiben. Nach dem Studium lebte er fünf Jahre im Ausland. Danach arbeitete er sechs Jahre als Lehrer in einer Sprachschule in Brighton. Sein erstes Jugendbuch veröffentlichte er 1987.
