After twenty years as an adoption attorney, the author transitioned to writing full-time. Her early work focused on historical fiction for middle-grade readers, but she has since expanded into adult fiction. Her novel 'Chasing the Beatles' was inspired by a deep love for music, particularly the Beatles, and the musical influence of her husband, musician and composer Arthur Barrow.
