Charles Péguy

    January 7, 1873 – September 5, 1914

Charles Péguy was a French writer, poet, and essayist. His extensive work encompasses verse dramas and lyrical poems with mystical themes, deeply influenced by the figure of Joan of Arc. Péguy was also a committed intellectual, whose early libertarian socialist and anti-clerical stances evolved towards an interest in Catholicism. In his essays, he expressed concerns about modernity and social issues.
