Religious Education in schools in Europe is facing societal and cultural diversity. It has become a key issue how to handle diversity adequately in the classroom. Religious Education and diversity are also the background of an Erasmus+ project of teacher training institutions (READY) in five European countries: Austria, Germany, England, Scotland, and Sweden (2016-2018). The book contains contributions from READY, a European project on teacher training in Religious Education. Experts and student teachers worked together on issues of diversity in classrooms of different European countries. Outcomes of the project include guidelines for study visits and online communication, case studies on Religious Education in the participating countries, contributions from national and international multiplier events and academic insights into the project. Statements and voices of student teachers enrich the publication. Dr Peter Schreiner is director of the Comenius-Institut, a Protestant Centre for Research and Development in Education in Münster/Germany. He edited the book on behalf of the READY Consortium. Contributions from Kerstin von Brömssen, Martin Fischer, Heinz Ivkovits, Peter Kliemann, Heid Leganger-Krogstad, Siebren Miedema, Kristian Niemi, Graeme Nixon, Janika Olschewski, Farid Panjwani, Jo Pearce, Jane Savill, Christof Schilling, Peter Schreiner, David Smith, Alexis Stones.

Swami Sahajananda (1781-1830), the founder of the Swaminarayan Movement, considered by his followers as an embodiment of Krishna, let Swami Shatananda write the Satsangijivanam in order to vouchsafe that his presence and teaching live on among his followers in and through this text. The extensive work is composed in Sanskrit and is here presented in an English summary. The text describes the biography of Swami Sahajananda and is an important document for the religious situation in the Gujarat of its time; it testifies to the religious practices (festivals, norms and values for private and public life) by which Swaminarayan wanted to replace practices (like animal sacrifice) that were considered as abuses. The content of the text is made accessible through a detailed index.

In modern soccer, players of all abilities experience enormous time pressure and pressure from opponents. They rarely get the chance to receive the ball calmly and then dribble, pass or shoot at the goal. Only by being able to bring the ball quickly and safely under control often while on the run can one play attractive and successful soccer. However, perfect ball control does not just start when the ball is at the player's feet, but must always be seen in the context of a game situation and an opponent. Perfect ball control can be broken down into four Preparation for the initial contact with the ball (perception, running into free space, adopting a suitable body position) The first touch of the ball Actions in possession of the ball (dribbling, feinting) Final action (pass, cross, shot at the goal) This practical book contains more than 160 drills and ball games and over 200 photos and 120 illustrations covering ball control, dribbling, feinting, passing, crossing and shooting at the goal.

Developments in theology and religious education across various countries foster a renewed dialogue between these fields. This book emphasizes the role of Christian theologies in relation to religious education, which is part of the public school curriculum in most European countries. Recognized as an academic subject, religious education encompasses both education and religion. Its relationship with theology, religious studies, and educational philosophy varies due to differing traditions and developments throughout Europe. A working group of nine experts from eight countries collaborated for two years under the Intereuropean Commission on Church and School (ICCS) and the Comenius-Institut in Münster, Germany. Their collaborative process resulted in diverse articles that reflect group discussions, ongoing project reports, and theoretical analyses based on relevant literature. Collectively, these contributions aim to inspire various activities and exploration within the field of religious education at multiple levels. Notable contributors include Roland Biewald, Gertud Ide Yversen, Juha Luodeslampi, Valentin Koshuharov, Alma Lanser-van der Velde, Gordon Mitchell, Gaynor Pollard, Sturla Sagberg, and Peter Schreiner, with a foreword by Hans Spinder.
