Lenka Lanczová
December 29, 1964
Lenka Lanczová, born Lenka Mužáková, is a Czech writer of novels for young people and women. Since 1987 she has been working in the municipal library in Slavonice.
She attended primary school in Slavonice. After graduating from the Secondary School of Economics in Jindřichův Hradec, she worked for a year at the District Administration of Communications. At the age of 13 she realized that what she wanted to find in girls' novels was not there, so she started writing. This innocent attempt turned into a lifelong hobby and today Lenka Lanczová is the author of almost 60 books. However, her first novel was published only after the political situation in the Czech Republic changed after the 1989 revolution. Until then, it did not fit into the editorial plans of the brick-and-mortar publishing houses.
