Giuseppe Garibaldi

    July 4, 1807 – June 2, 1882

    Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian military and political leader whose life was marked by revolutionary ideals and expeditions across continents. As a young man, he became involved in conspiracy and fled Italy after a failed insurrection. His military career flourished in South America, where he led the Italian Legion in revolutionary conflicts, before returning to Europe to become a pivotal figure in the Italian Risorgimento. Celebrated for his heroic feats in both South America and Europe, he earned the moniker "Hero of the Two Worlds" and remains an Italian national hero.
