One of the leading Northwest artists of his generation, George Tsutakawa (1910–97) is internationally known for his sculpture and fountain designs. However, a lesser-known aspect of his career was the production of blockprints, watercolors, and works on paper that began in the 1930s and continued throughout his career.Born in Seattle and educated in Japan, Tsutakawa had early success while still in high school. He attended the University of Washington, where he received an MFA in sculpture in 1950, and became an influential instructor at the university's School of Art from 1947 to 1976.Drawn from the Tsutakawa estate, most of the works shown here have never been seen previously by the public. These early works display concepts and inspirations that would inform Tsutakawa's aesthetic throughout a long and distinguished career. Básnický výbor Rybář na řece Ogh je bilanční knihou autora střední generace, známého pouze v některých literárních kruzích. David jako by sám dělal vše pro to, aby tu tzv. nebyl. (Množstvím vydaných knih – vydal pouze tři, četností svých příspěvků do časopisů, hlasitým zapojením se do debaty.) Dodejme, že se mu to téměř podařilo… Ale to by byla veliká škoda! Řeky, přehrady, jezera, rybníky – půvabné fenomény krajiny využíváme k rekreaci i jako turistický cíl, putujeme kolem a podél nich, někdy si troufneme a usedáme do nejrůznějších plavidel, abychom s pomocí vlastní šikovnosti a zdatnosti zdolali nástrahy vodních toků. V rámci "Rodinných toulek" jsme připravili výběr 40 nejkrásnějších výletů lodí po celé ČR. Nebudeme k tomu potřebovat vodácké vybavení, dokonce nebudeme muset podstupovat žádnou námahu. Využijeme totiž výhradně veřejnou lodní dopravu. U každého vybraného výletu najdete stručné představení hlavního místa, ať už se jedná o řeku nebo "stojatou" vodu, dále popis trasy, kterou lodí absolvujeme (rozumí se to, co z lodi vidíme, případně kde můžeme vystoupit), a nějakou tu zajímavost navrch. Nemohou chybět ani praktické informace - ty se vážou k určitému datu a právě v lodní dopravě se mohou sezonu od sezony měnit. Proto jsou v publikaci uváděni i provozovatelé pravidelné dopravy - neuškodí, když si aktuální stav vždy ověříme.
