Bruno Gröning
May 30, 1906 – January 26, 1959
Bruno Gröning was a German healer. He had neither medical nor theological training, but considered himself an emissary of God and in his speeches called for a "great transformation" (literally "Großer Umkehr").
He was born in Danzig, the fourth of seven children in a simple family. Later he became convinced that he had a gift from God that enabled him to gain influence over other people and animals, which he described in his book Stationen meines irdischen Lebens (The stopping of my earthly life). A healing current (Heilstrom in German) was said to emanate from him, enabling people to heal. Already during Gröning's lifetime, various organisations were formed around him, but it was only after his death that Greta Häusler (1922-2007), his pupil and collaborator, founded the Circle of Friends of Bruno Gröning in 1979, which gradually spread and became active in the Czech Republic.
