Heraclitus of Ephesus, known as "The Obscure" and the "Weeping Philosopher," was a pre-Socratic Greek thinker who emphasized constant change as the fundamental essence of the universe. He posited that change is the only constant and that all things exist in a unity of opposites, famously stating "the path up and down are one and the same." His cryptic utterances, such as "all entities come to be in accordance with this Logos," have invited myriad interpretations of his profound work.
