      Son papa voulait la baptiser Rose. Elle aurait aussi pu s'appeler Violette. Mais sa maman est violemment anticonformiste. Normal, c'est une sorcière. Alors, exit le papa, elle a choisi de nommer sa fille, héritière de ses pouvoirs... Verte. Pas facile à porter quand on voudrait surtout être une petite fille comme les autres et ne jamais fabriquer de bouillons bizarres. Heureusement, Verte a une mamie, sorcière aussi, mais plus tolérante. Chacun des protagonistes fait progresser l'histoire en la racontant à sa façon et de son point de vue. S'expriment ainsi successivement Ursule (la maman), Anastabotte (la grand-mère), Verte (la fille), Soufi (un garçon), puis Ursule à nouveau pour la conclusion. Sous couvert d'histoire de sorcières (bien aimées), ce livre parle du passage de l'enfance à l'adolescence, de la construction de la personnalité, des premiers émois amoureux, des rapports entre générations, du rôle des parents. Et réveille la sorcière qui sommeille en nous tous, en faisant aussi beaucoup rire. --Pascale Wester
