Kurt Mendelssohn

    January 7, 1906 – September 18, 1980

Kurt Mendelssohn was a German-born British medical physicist whose scientific work spanned low-temperature physics, transuranic elements, and medical applications. Beyond his scientific contributions, Mendelssohn explored ancient mysteries, most notably in his book "The Riddle of the Pyramids." In this work, he applied his expertise in physics to theorize about the construction of the Egyptian pyramids, drawing inspiration from a disaster site to explain the collapse of a pyramid during its building. While his specific hypotheses were not adopted by Egyptologists, the book offers a unique and stimulating perspective on ancient architectural engineering.
