Daniel P. Mannix Books
Daniel Pratt Mannix IV was an American author and journalist whose life diverged remarkably from his contemporaries. His career included stints as a side-show performer, magician, eagle trainer, and filmmaker. As an author, he explored a vast range of subjects, from fictional animal tales for children and the natural history of animals to adventurous accounts of big-game hunting and sensational adult non-fiction. His works delved into biographies of occultists, sympathetic portrayals of carnival performers and sideshow 'freaks,' and explorations of topics like the Hellfire Club, the slave trade, the history of torture, and Roman games.
