Armii Czerwonej. Opowieść Nikołaja Nikulina, wcielonego do wojska w 1941,
który jako jeden z nielicznych sowieckich żołnierzy przeszedł cały szlak
bojowy. Został odznaczony za bohaterstwo, jednak jego wspomnienia odzierają
frontowe przeżycia z heroizmu, burząc mit wielkiej wojny ojczyźnianej. Nikulin
otwarcie przyznaje się do potwornego strachu, opisuje głód, śmierć i
okrucieństwo czerwonoarmistów. Demaskuje głupotę i cynizm dowodzących, a także
