Hermann Lotze

    May 21, 1817 – July 1, 1881

Rudolf Hermann Lotze was a German philosopher, logician, and physician whose work explored the fundamental nature of reality. He posited that if the physical world operates under mechanical laws, then the complex relations and developments within the universe could be understood as the manifestations of a world mind. His medical studies were also foundational, pioneering early works in scientific psychology. Lotze's thought uniquely bridges scientific inquiry with profound philosophical speculation.
