Eduard Zeller

    January 22, 1814 – March 19, 1908

    Eduard Zeller was a German Protestant theologian and philosopher whose thought was deeply influenced by Kant and Hegel. He initially taught theology at Tübingen, Bern, and Marburg universities. Following disputes with the clerical party, he transitioned to philosophy, becoming a Professor of Philosophy at Heidelberg University. His extensive work includes monumental studies on the history of philosophy, particularly that of the Greeks, and investigations into the relationship between church and state.
