The narrative centers on F.H. Schwarzenbach's participation in the 1953 Second Baffin Island Expedition, where he documented his botanical research in a comprehensive report that remained unpublished due to funding issues. In 1975, Doris Löve translated a draft of this report into English, which was later referenced in a 1980 publication. A rediscovered original translation allowed Schwarzenbach to compare it with the 1962 German report, enriching the text with 1953 images. This work fills a gap in literature about Ayuittuq National Park and serves as a historical document on mid-20th-century polar research methodologies.
