Diese Prinzipien verbinden sich, wenn wir Verantwortung übernehmen und gemeinsam mit den Menschen Lebensräume gestalten. Viele Projekte orientieren sich an den Wohnbau-Genossenschaftsmodellen der 1920er Jahre. Durch alternative Planungsverfahren, wie Baugemeinschaften, und spezielle Finanzierungsoptionen schaffen wir Anreize für nachhaltige Lösungen. So wird es Bauherren ermöglicht, die hohen Kosten für Passivhausstandards zu tragen.

The 23 papers in this volume cover a wide range of topics in Systematics, phytodiversity, phytosociology, and ecology of Bryophytes, underscoring the ongoing significance of Bryology. The Systematic section includes eight contributions, featuring the description of a new genus, Kuerschneria, and four new species. Two papers focus on molecular analyses of the genera Oxystegus and Palustriella, while one presents a morphometric analysis of Gymnostomiella. Additionally, five papers offer classical morpho-anatomical treatments of the moss genus Forsstroemia and liverwort genera Ceratolejeunea and Lejeunea. The Phytodiversity section, comprising nine contributions, showcases a global survey of bryophyte diversity across regions such as Europe, South-West Asia, Macaronesia, the Himalayan region, southern South America, and Île Amsterdam. Contributions span various countries including Greece, Montenegro, Turkey, Bhutan, and Chile. The Phytosociology and Ecology section features five papers, two of which focus on neotropical trunk-epiphytes, while others address vegetation units in Europe and the ecology of Porella in Madeira. The volume concludes with a study on asexual reproduction in pleurocarpous mosses. These papers honor Professor Dr. Harald Kürschner for his significant contributions to bryology and Geobotany.

For the architect Wolfgang Frey, the five principles of sustainability relate to ecology, economy, society, vision, and motivation. In his book The Five Finger Principle, Frey illustrates the principles of socially and ecologically sustainable architecture using a wealth of real-world examples. Among others the Frey Architectural Firm presented concepts and projects for sustainable architecture and urban development on behalf of the city of Freiburg at the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.Ökologie, Ökonomie, Gesellschaft, Gestaltungswille und Anreiz: Das sind für den Architekten Wolfgang Frey die fünf Prinzipien der Nachhaltigkeit. In seinem Buch ,, Das Fünf-Finger-Prinzip" illustriert er die Grundsätze einer ökologisch und sozial nachhaltigen Architektur anhand von vielen Praxisbeispielen. Neben anderen präsentierten Frey Architekten Konzepte und Projekte nachhaltiger Architektur und Stadtentwicklung für die Stadt Freiburg auf der EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.

Engler's Syllabus of Plant Families has since its first publication in 1887 aimed to provide both the research, and particularly the student with a concise survey of the plant kingdom as a whole, presenting all higher systematic units right down to families and genera of plants and fungi. In 1954, more than 60 years ago, the 12th edition of the well-known "Syllabus der Pflanzenfamilien" ("Syllabus of Plant Families"), set a standard. Now, the completely restructured and revised 13th edition of Engler's Syllabus published in 5 parts and in English language for the first time also considers molecular data, which have only recently become available in order to provide an up-to-date evolutionary and systematic overview of the plant and fungal groups treated. -- back cover

This entirely new English edition, comprehensively revised and edited by T.L. Blockeel, has been translated from German, with some additional text, by the authors. In a single volume, this work provides users with the means of making at least a preliminary identification of any bryophyte or fern which they might encounter in Europe or Macaronesia.
