    • Johannes Daniel Falk (1768–1826) gehört zu den wichtigsten Vertretern einer Pädagogisierung der Sozialfürsorge. Er wirkte vor allem im Weimar der Goethe-Zeit. Mit der Gründung der „Gesellschaft der Freunde in der Not“ im Jahr 1813 etablierte er ein Modell, in dem soziale Fürsorge mit Arbeitsbildung und Frömmigkeitserziehung verbunden wurde. Sein „Lutherhof“, den er 1821 in Weimar einrichtete, gilt als Vorbild und Vorläufer der Rettungshauskonzeption Johann Hinrich Wicherns. Falk, heute noch präsent in seinem Weihnachtslied „O du fröhliche“, steht für eine christliche Praxis als Anwaltschaft für benachteiligte Kinder und Jugendliche. Der vorliegende Band macht die wichtigsten pädagogischen Schriften Falks wieder zugänglich.
