Das Buch erzählt zunächst die letz ten Tage meines Neufundländerhundes „Aron“ bis hin zu seinem Tod. Einige Wochen später kommt ein neuer Hund ins Haus, ein Welpe, den wir auf den Namen „Hermann“ taufen. Ab hier erzählt das Buch die kurze, bewegende Lebensgeschichte dieses außergewöhnlichen Familienmitgliedes. Heitere Episoden und einzigartige Begebenheiten, die man ausschließlich nur bei der „Aufzucht“ und Erziehung eines jungen Hundes erlebt, werden hier gut dargestellt und fl üssig erzählt. Dabei spart der Autor nicht mit einer kräftigen Portion Selbstkritik.

Crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) represents one of the best-studied metabolic examples of an ecological adaptation to environmental stress. Well over 5 % of all vascular plant species engage in this water-conserving photosynthetic pathway.
