Exploring the impact of audio technology in nursing education, this study compares audio feedback to text-only feedback in online discussions. It utilizes the community of inquiry framework to assess social, cognitive, and teaching presences among RN-BSN students. Findings indicate a preference for text-only feedback regarding teaching presence and student satisfaction, while also examining retention and academic performance. The results suggest a need for further mixed methods research to deepen understanding of these dynamics in nursing education.
