David Rousset

David Rousset was a French writer and political activist whose work profoundly explored the horrors of concentration camps. As a survivor of these brutal regimes, he was instrumental in introducing the term "Gulag" into the French language, exposing the Soviet system of labor camps to a wider audience. His commitment to revealing these oppressive realities led to attacks, yet he courageously pursued legal action and won, solidifying his role as a voice for conscience and human rights. Rousset also co-founded a left-wing political movement, advocating for a democratic socialist European federation.
