Sophocles: second thoughts
Authors
More about the book
In 1990 the Oxford University Press published a new text of Sophocles edited by Hugh Lloyd-Jones and N. G. Wilson, in the series of Oxford Classical Texts, and also a book called Sophoclea, consisting of notes designed to explain the reasons for some of the editorial decisions; it has 282 pages. The problems presented by the text of Sophocles are numerous and difficult, and in many cases there is room for disagreement. The books have been reviewed in many places, and some of the reviewers have raised interesting questions. The editors have accordingly compiled a new collection of notes in which they deal with some of these questions and add other relevant material.
