More about the book

Global sustainable development necessitates a better understanding and utilization of natural resources, with rheology playing a crucial role. The Fifth European Rheology Conference, held from September 6 to 11 in Portorož, Slovenia, marks a significant event as the first All-European meeting following the establishment of the European Society of Rheology. This historic gathering will introduce the Weissenberg Medal, awarded every four years for outstanding contributions to the field, with the inaugural recipient being Professor G. Marrucci from the Università degli Studi di Napoli, Italy. The conference will feature two mini symposia: one on Industrial Rheology in memory of the late Professor G. Astarita, and another celebrating the eightieth birthday of Professor N. W. Tschoegl. This volume includes extended abstracts of 15 plenary and keynote lectures, along with approximately 300 oral and poster contributions, all reviewed by members of the European Committee on Rheology to ensure high standards. In addition to the scientific program, the Organizing Committee has arranged a comprehensive social agenda to showcase Slovenia's culture and natural beauty.
