Contains Jungmann-Bradt's narrative on the life of her family in Berlin in the 1930s, describing the atmosphere of the first years of Nazi rule. Jungmann-Bradt was born in 1916 to the family of a Jewish physician. In 1934 she was arrested by the Gestapo as a member of an antifascist youth group. In 1937 the family left Germany for Palestine.
