More about the book

This volume features papers accepted for the First International Conference on Electronic Commerce and Web Technologies, held in Greenwich, UK, from September 4-6, 2000. The conference aimed to unite researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to evaluate current methodologies and explore new ideas in e-commerce and web technology. Attracting 120 submissions globally, each paper underwent a rigorous review by at least three program committee members. Ultimately, 42 papers were selected for presentation and included in these proceedings. The conference program included 14 technical sessions and two invited talks over three days. Regular sessions addressed topics such as web application design, intellectual property rights, security, distributed organizations, web usage analysis, electronic commerce success factors, electronic markets, XML, web mining, electronic negotiation, and mobile commerce. Notable invited addresses included Anthony Finkelstein from University College London, discussing "A Foolish Consistency: Technical Challenges in Consistency Management," and Paul Timmers from the European Commission, who spoke on "The Role of Technology for the e-Economy."
