More about the book

Julian Schwinger, who taught quantum mechanics at Harvard, aimed to write a textbook since the 1950s. Though he hesitated to publish his lecture notes, the lectures from Les Houches in 1955 were eventually released. The 1991 reissue includes a preface discussing the evolution of quantum kinematics and the importance of notation.
