More about the book
Teratology is an interdisciplinary field which is currently undergoing rapid development. Today, the focus of interest is not just on substance use, the effects of noxae, or testing in experimental animals; rather, clinical questions and such that are relevant to practice have priority. Teratology presents new possibilities for prophylactic intervention in the genesis of malformations. It has already become a worthy tradition at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald to regularly conduct symposia. These symposia are an opportunity to take stock of current embryological and teratological research and, not unimportantly, to bring together all who are interested in the field of teratology for an interdisciplinary exchange of opinions. This volume contains the Proceedings of the 10th Teratology Symposium on malformations of the locomotor system, particularly of the head/skull, and on embryofetal alcohol syndrome. In addition, problems of development, growth, and clinical teratology are addressed. The book is well and generously illustrated.
