More about the book
This thesis concentrates on a partial problem of object perception, the acquisition and application of a viewpoint-invariant object representation. That is a representation which allows the recognition of a three-dimensional object independently from the viewpoint, which is displayed to the observer. There is a present argument about how the brain information consists of the views projected to the retina, which are only two-dimensional. Two major theories about the nature of object representations are being discussed.
