More about the book

We are pleased to present the proceedings from the 5th International Conference on Parallel Processing and Applied Mathematics, held in Cz¸ estochowa, Poland, from September 7–10, 2003. The inaugural PPAM conference took place in 1994, organized by the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science at Cz¸ estochowa University of Technology. The event aimed to create a relaxed forum for researchers in applied and computational mathematics and parallel computing to exchange ideas, fostering collaboration. Initially a predominantly Polish gathering, the conference has evolved into an international event, as evidenced by its growth. The first conference featured 41 presentations, while participation swelled to 150 in Na l¸ ecz´ ow in 2001. Today, PPAM stands as one of Poland's premier conferences, particularly in the fields of parallel/distributed computing and applied mathematics. This year, nearly 200 participants from 32 countries attended, with a rigorous refereeing process leading to the acceptance of around 150 contributed presentations and a rejection rate of about 33%. This growth reflects the conference's success in promoting research collaboration and knowledge exchange on a global scale.
